Floor Damage Prevention
Only approved indoor, non-marking running shoes should be worn in the gymnasium by participants or spectators. Sand and grit from the outdoors, over time, is the greatest cause of damage to the gym floor.
Do not drop heavy objects because your gym floor is vulnerable to dents and hard impact damage, even when the floor cover is in place. Use a piece of plywood or padding mats under pianos and heavy sound equipment.
Prevent food and beverages consumption in your gym if protective floor covers are not in place.
Do not use adhesive substances such as tape, duct tape, glue, gum, etc. directly on the gym floor. Use only approved Covermaster tape for gym floor covers. Its adhesive is specifically designed not to react with polymers in floor covers and your floor. DO NOT ALLOW THE USE OF SILLY STRING (PARTY STREAMER, PARTY CRAZY STRING)!
Use Covermaster gym floor covers to protect your gym floors during all non-athletic activities.
Use only CoverMate II floor cover handling systems since it is the only rack that has 6 offset casters that will never end up on the same wood slat.
If not using a gym floor cover, do not use chairs, dividers, tables, or other equipment not approved by your athletics director.
Allow only designated personnel to move your gym equipment. Use only approved dolly, typically, with large rubber (not hard plastic) tires.
Do not run athletic events while the floor cover is in place.
Protect your gym floor investment!
